Date published: 19 December 2016

Armed masked men raided a home in Rochdale stealing cash and a watch.

Sometime between 6.30am and 6.50am on Wednesday 14 December 2016, three men – armed with a small axe - broke into a house on Fox Hill Road.

They approached the homeowner – a woman in her 40s - and demanded cash.

They then searched the property before leaving with a small amount of cash and a watch.

The watch is a bright pink women’s Avalanche watch with a silver face.

The first offender is described as a white man in his 40s, of medium build, and was wearing all black including black leather gloves, a zipped up jacket, a beanie hat and a cloth mask.

The second offender was also described as a white man. He was carrying the axe and was slightly taller than the first man. He was of slim build and the axe had a long wooden handle with a metal head.

The third offender is also described as a man, but there are no further details.

Detective Constable Hannah Greetham, from GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “The victim was left very shaken but luckily she was not harmed.

“A witness heard an engine revving at around 6.50am and we therefore believe that the suspects were in a vehicle but we currently have no description of one.

“We would ask anyone with any information about this burglary to please come forward. If you saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or a car, please get in touch."

Anyone with any information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 317 of 14 December 2016 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
