Hamer School Nativity Play

Date published: 19 December 2016

Children from the whole learning community at Springside and Hamer came together for a Christmas celebration to sing carols and celebrate the values and traditions associated with Christmas on Friday 16 December.

We hope you all enjoyed the nativity production this week, it was lovely to see so many parents in attendance at both performances. Well done to all the children for their performances and big thank you to Miss Page and the rest of the team for their hard work in putting all of this together.

We talked and sang about the messages of inclusion, of celebration, of love and respect for all; values that unite all people of all faiths. The children had a lovely time, working and singing together and their behaviour, participation and kindness for one another was outstanding.

The children enjoyed a special traditional Christmas Turkey dinner (or vegetarian option as required) on Thursday 15 November. The children enjoyed pulling Christmas crackers, wearing the paper hats and entertaining us all with the jokes from inside the crackers.

Please can parents keep your children safe on the car park and watch them closely at all times. We had an incident this week where a child was nearly run over, due to the child not looking where they were going. Please be vigilant at all times to protect our children.

Congratulations to Miss Holden who is getting married during the Christmas holidays. We wish her all the best for her big day and look forward to welcoming her back as Mrs Booth after the holidays.

The Citizens and Star of the Week will return in the New Year.

Well done to Miss Khan’s class for best attendance for week ending 9 December 2016. Parents please support us by ensuring your children are on time and in school every day.

Just a reminder that After school clubs will start again from week commencing Monday 9 January.

Math’s Packs are now back in stock and priced at £5. Please can children see their class teacher or the school office if interested in purchasing one.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our brilliant Hamer families for the support and sense of community that nurture and continue to develop at school. Hamer School is the fabulous place it is because of our true “working together and caring spirit” which happens all year round and not just at Christmas!! Have a happy holiday with those who mean the most to you and we look forward to seeing you all back in school on Tuesday 3 January at 8.50am.

We will close for the Christmas holidays on Friday 16th December 2016 and return to school at 8:50am on Tuesday 3 January 2017.
