An award-winning treetop attraction will be opening in Heaton Park next year.
Treetop Trek Ltd, which already has sites in the Lake District and North Yorkshire, has been granted planning permission from Manchester City Council to open a new treetop adventure at Heaton Park
The new attraction will offer a full range of treetop experiences for all ages and abilities.
Treetop Nets will feature giant treetop trampolines suitable for everyone aged three and up and Treetop Trek will offer an aerial treetop adventure course and zip safari, suitable for everyone over the age of five.
The design for the new Heaton Park Treetop Trek features the longest continuous belay ropes course in Europe and it will boast 20 zip-wires, while its Treetop Nets course is set to be the biggest in the UK.
Work is scheduled to commence over Winter in over seven acres of native woodland to the west of the Hall Car Park and the brand new attraction will open to the public in Spring 2017. 40 jobs will be created, with recruitment starting after Christmas.
Mike Turner, Managing Director of Treetop Trek Ltd, said: “We are delighted to announce that we have had our planning application for Heaton Park approved and can’t wait to bring Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets to Manchester in 2017.
“We have already welcomed tens of thousands of people from the North West to our flagship attraction in Windermere and are really excited to be bringing something even bigger and better to Heaton Park.”
Launched in June 2012, Treetop Trek Ltd has grown to become a multi-award-winner, including gaining the title of Best Tourism Experience at the VisitEngland Awards for its site at Windermere in the Lake District. The news of its Heaton Park development follows the company’s successful expansion into North Yorkshire with the opening of Treetop Nets at Ripon in May 2016.
