Bamford Green Belt Action Group instruct barrister with planning expertise

Date published: 17 December 2016

The Bamford Green Belt Action Group has instructed Ruth Stockley of King’s Chambers, Manchester, a barrister with planning expertise, to help fight against proposals to build 750 houses on Green Belt land in Bamford.

Anne Shorrocks, Founding Member of the Action Group, says the proposal "can only ring a death knell to Bamford".

She added: "The destruction of this site will create a mini-town and spoil the desirability and aspirational dreams of people wanting to live in this well ordered semi-rural village."

Mrs Shorrocks is seeking support from Bamford residents and asking them to add their names to a petition which the action group hopes will reach 1,000 signatures.

The action group is also seeking donations to help cover the cost of legal expenses.
