Overall, 51% of final year primary pupils in the Borough met the expected standard, slightly below the national average of 53%, in the the new national Sats tests.
The Borough average score for maths of 103 matched the national average and the score of 102 for reading is just one point lower than the national average.
The highest scoring pupils in the borough for both reading and maths attend Kentmere Primary Academy - scores of 109 in reading and 110 in maths.
St Luke's CofE Primary School scored 109 in maths.
Heap Bridge Village Primary School scored 108 in reading.
Alice Ingham Roman Catholic Primary School had the lowest scores with 97 in both reading and maths. Our Lady and St Paul's Roman Catholic Primary School, Heywood scored 98 in both reading and maths.
