Police called to escort supporters of Scunthorpe United
Two men were arrested after ‘breaching the peace’ at the football match between Scunthorpe United and Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena, Spotland on Saturday (10 December).
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after noon on Saturday 10 December 2016, police were called to escort supporters of Scunthorpe United to Spotland football stadium, ahead of the match with Rochdale which kicked-off at 3pm.
“During the second half of the match, police were requested to respond to acts of disorder involving Scunthorpe fans inside and outside of ground.
“Two men, aged 45 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of causing a breach of the peace.
“Police are continuing to investigate the disorder that occurred at the fixture.”
Rochdale AFC declined to comment.
