New Rochdale Post Office opens

Date published: 02 December 2016

The New Rochdale Post Office at 9-10 South Parade, Rochdale opened on Thursday.

The new branch is designed to ensure easy access and that adequate space is provided inside for customers using a wheelchair to move around the store. There is a hearing loop at the counter. All staff are trained to meet Post Office professional standards for service and security.

The branch is open from 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and the opening hours, which will increase by an extra three hours and 30 minutes on Saturday afternoon, will make the new branch more convenient.

Local residents and small business customers are able to access a wide range of Post Office services during the extended opening hours, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.

Simon Drinkwater, Regional Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
