Black Friday brought a bumper day of sales to Rochdale Exchange

Date published: 30 November 2016

Free parking combined with one-day-only deals and savings brought customers through the doors in their droves at the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre on Black Friday - footfall incrased by10.4%.

The festive shopping period is now well and truly underway and Centre Manager, Lorenzo O’Reilly said he was delighted with how popular Black Friday proved to be. He added: “We had a feeling that Black Friday would be busy but this went above and beyond expectations.

“Our retailers really pulled out all the stops and put on some fantastic offers for the day. A number of the offers were only revealed on Friday morning making it a must not miss day of shopping.

"We also put on free parking for the people of Rochdale, encouraging them to come down and make the most of the deals and the day definitely didn’t disappoint.”

Despite rumblings that Black Friday would be a quieter affair than in previous years, Lorenzo said Rochdale Exchange had bucked the predictions.

“Based on retail trends we know that there was a view that the day would be quieter than in previous years but it really wasn’t the case here. The savings on offer and free parking encouraged shoppers to come out and spend. We had a great day.”
