Demolition of Telegraph House is almost complete
The demolition of Telegraph House is almost complete.
The building has been demolished to make way for Rochdale’s new flagship shopping and leisure development, 'Rochdale Riverside'.
Telegraph House was originally intended to be demolished when the bus station and Black Box were levelled in 2014 but that proved impossible as one tenant's lease had not expired.
Once the tenant, The Tribunal Service, had been relocated , the demolition began.
A detailed planning application for Rochdale Riverside was recently submitted by Genr8 Developments and following years of delays, construction is due to start in the summer of 2017, with completion anticipated to be 2018.
