The event included various sessions by professional speakers.

There was opportunity for attendees to share their lived experiences and ask questions on sessions provided. Earliest visit to the GP is very important.

Overall it was highlighted that it’s very important that finding and treating cancer at an early stage can save lives.

The session helped to increase awareness to learn about lifestyle changes such as eating healthy diets, staying active and getting the right support and treatment can help to alleviate the risk of cancer.

There were 50 people attending the event from services, councillors and members of the public.

Mohammed Sarwar said: “As a result of this event, Pakeeza Woemen Group will be organising a cancer awareness session in Urdu for their members.”
