Springhill Hospice was transformed into a Christmas winter wonderland on Sunday and over £11,000 was raised, all of which will go to fund patient care at the Hospice, ensuring the continuation of expert care from the doctors, nurses and volunteers.
Visitors took advantage of a break in the rain and snow to shop for Christmas gifts, homebake, homemade curry, toys, books and bric-a-brac, all at the same time as raising much needed funds for the palliative care facility.
Sarah Ford, the Hospice Income Services Manager said: "This year, thanks to the generosity of our fantastic supporters, we were able to offer some amazing prizes.
"Following the break-in at Springhill Tea Room the public rallied round and donated fantastic amounts of quality hampers, bottles, homewares, homebake and other goodies which we were able to use to raise money for the Hospice.
“This year's raffle alone raised a record breaking £581, thanks to such generous donations.
"We'd like to thank everyone who donated, everyone who helped on the day and afterwards with the tidying up and the public for their unfaltering support, and the weather for holding off the rain especially for us."
