Little ‘Pink’ Borough raised £2,440 for Cancer Research UK.
The idea to 'paint' Littleborough pink came from Kath and Andy O’Donnell of The Three Amigos Fundraising Group, who were celebrating ten years of fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
Shops and other businesses across the town were invited to decorate their window displays pink. Staff members also wore pink. Extra funds were raised through raffles, selling pink cakes, and hosting tea and coffee mornings.
Kath and Andy said: “We are very grateful to each and every one who made this the great success it has been.
“Thank you to all who joined in this pink campaign, this got people talking and coming into Littleborough to see all the windows and take in the great atmosphere that it created.
“This event has made our tenth year of fundraising for Cancer Research UK very special and we are looking forward to doing this again next year and hopefully it will become an annual event.”
Little Gift Box won the best dressed window display with their Alice in Wonderland theme, judged by Councillors Ashley Dearnley and Ann Stott.
