Bullet the dog will soon be home

Date published: 17 November 2016

Bullet the dog is due home next week after almost three months away from his owner, Siobhan Shackleton. He was taken away from home on Oldham Road by Greater Manchester Police on 22 August.

The three-year-old dog was taken away under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, despite being a cross of two breeds not banned under the Act, an American bulldog and a bull mastiff.

Bullet also has no history of ever attacking anyone.

Owner Siobhan believes her dog, who she has had since he was born, had wrongly been reported as a Pit Bull Terrier, one of four banned breeds in the UK. The other three banned breeds are: Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro.

She said: “He can finally come home next week after he’s neutered. He passed all his assessments with flying colours.

“Words can’t describe how over the moon I am. It’s been three months and I can’t wait to see his beautiful face, next week just can’t come fast enough.”
