Age UK in Rochdale to close

Age UK in Rochdale will be closing and is expected to cease trading on 23 December.

A spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that Age UK Metro Rochdale will be closing and is expected to cease trading.

“Age UK Metro Rochdale has faced significant financial challenges this year, particularly after the Boxing Day flooding last December, which has had a significant impact on the charity.

“Age UK formerly Age Concern has had a presence in the Borough of Rochdale for more than 40 years and we would like to thank all staff and volunteers who have worked at Age UK Metro Rochdale and have helped to improve the lives of older people in the local area.

“If anyone connected with Age UK Metro Rochdale has any queries or concerns they can contact Age UK Metro Rochdale on 01706 354225.

“If older people and their friends and family in the local area want to know about alternative services that may be available in their area they can contact Age UK on 0800 169 6565 (8:30–17:30 Monday –Friday) who can provide information and advice and signpost to local Age UKs and services in the area."

Age UK Metro Rochdale is an independent charity and part of the Age UK network. The Age UK network comprises around 155 local Age UKs reaching most of England.
