Hopwood Hall Hair and Beauty students prepare for assessments with open evening

Date published: 11 November 2016

Hair and beauty students at Hopwood Hall College began preparing for their upcoming assessments on Thursday (10 November) with a pre-observation evening with demonstrations that were open to the public.

Demonstrations ranged from various make-up looks, hair treatments such as Olaplex, shaped acrylic nails and gels, Dermologica facials, and microdermabrasion. Those performing demonstrations had glittery lips in various colours and were able to offer advice and answer any queries about their treatments.

Members of the public who came to observe also had the opportunity to book any of the treatments available at the salon, including all the ones demonstrated.

Salon instructors, Jacquie Collinge and Hayley Poles, said: “We’re very proud of all our students, including those who came in tonight to help out.

“Every one of them has displayed how professional the salon is, and they’ve maintained the standard set with their professional attitudes this evening.”

All students who took part on the night will receive an extra certificate towards their studies, highlighting their employability skills. The pre-observations allow the students, ranging from level one to level three in skill, to practice their skills before taking on their final assessments in each unit.
