CCTV footage has been captured showing three men attempting to break into a Peugeot van on Harbour Lane in Milnrow during the middle of the night on 1 November.
Damage was caused to the door, but no items were taken.
This attempt comes a week after a previous break in between 7pm on Saturday 22 October and 7.30am on Monday 24 October, where offenders forced the door of the vehicle and stole several items including a drill.
Police are not treating the two crimes as being linked.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We continue to appeal for information and would urge anyone with any info to please call 101, quoting 206705S/16 or 199801E/16.”
