An 'Evening With Our John' raises over £1,000 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 07 November 2016

Rochdale’s singing jeweller John Alexander presented Springhill Hospice’s Barbara Lloyd with a cheque for £1,000 after his concert, 'An Evening with Our John', on Saturday 22 October at Rochdale’s Masonic Buildings.

John is no stranger to singing to crowds, having sung to an audience numbering 3,000 previously. However, this was the first time John had asked people to pay to hear his renditions of classic tracks by Elvis, Dean Martin and Johnny Cash (to name but a few), with all proceeds being donated towards the Hospice.

Speaking about the event, John said: “It was very well attended and everyone has told me how much they enjoyed the show. I’m planning on booking the Town Hall for a future charity event; if I can sing to 100 people, I can sing to 400.”
