Bonfire and firework displays start early

Bonfire and firework displays in the borough
The first of the bonfires and firework displays organised by Rochdale Borough Council start on Monday (31 October) night at Bowlee Community Park, Heywood Old Road, Middleton.
Tuesday night sees the Heywood bonfire and firework display at Queen's Park, followed on Wednesday by the Rochdale bonfire and firework display at Cronkeyshaw Common, Syke.
On Friday (4 November) Mayfield Sports Centre in Castleton hosts a bonfire and firework display, as do St Michael's Uniformed Groups at St Michael's Church, Townley Street, Alkrington.
On the actual 'proper' Guy Fawkes night - Saturday 5 November - there are a number of bonfire and firework displays around the borough at local cricket clubs:
- Littleborough Cricket Club
- Rochdale Cricket Club
- Middleton Cricket Club
- Norden Cricket Club
- Heywood Cricket Club
