Diplomatic services being delivered at Deeplish Community Centre

The Consulate General of Pakistan has recommenced their outreach programme to help out local community by holding surgeries at community venues and providing services as part of outreach and engagement to the Rochdale’s British Pakistani and Kashmiri communities.

Officers from Consulate General, NADRA team spent a day at Deeplish Community Centre helping people to apply and renew their national identity cards, which are valid for 10 years and act as visa cards whilst travelling to Pakistan. Staff also dealt with urgent visa requests and applications from the local community.

Councillor Aasim Rashid, Councillor Mohammed Zaman and Councillor Alan Brett attended the NADRA surgery and supported local community members. They also oversaw the arrangements, organisation and delivery of services to local community and helped staff and volunteers at the centre in providing counter signatures and attested documents for the applicants.

Deeplish Community Centre manager, Sohail Ahmad, said: "We are pleased to offer these services locally and to work in partnership with the Consulate General to support the local community and save elderly people and families with children and disabled members having to journey to Manchester.

"We are proud to provide well organised, effective and supported surgeries and thankful to the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dr Zahoor Ahmed, NADRA Team, local councillors and our dedicated staff team."
