Giant Peach took centre stage in The Wheatsheaf

Date published: 25 October 2016

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre installed a giant peach on the mall and provided free storytelling sessions to celebrate 100 years since Roald Dahl’s birthday Saturday (22 October).

Families were astonished by a giant 4.5 metre high inflatable peach that appeared on the main mall for a one day only read-tacular.

Hundreds of children queued outside the giant peach inspired by Roald Dahl’s novel ‘James and the Giant Peach’ to get a spot inside and be taken on a fairy tale journey every hour as a talented performer read a variety of children stories.

Free bookmark making also took place between 11am and 3:30pm.
