Woman punched to ground and robbed in Heywood

A 45-year-old woman was punched to the ground, kicked, and had cash taken from her pocket by two teenage boys at the junction of Coomassie Street and Coverdale Close at 1.40am on Tuesday (4 October).

Both teenagers are described as white, with brown hair and around 15 to 16-years-old.

One teenager was around 5ft 6ins tall and wearing all dark clothes. The other was around 5ft 2ins and wearing a grey hoody.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Constable Claire Bracey, of GMP Rochdale, said: “This was a distressing attack which has left the victim very shaken.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at that time who may have witnessed the attack, or saw anyone matching the descriptions, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and quote the reference number 116 of 04/10/16 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
