Jack Halissey and Declen Gregory from Siddal Moor Sports College met with the the Mayor, Ray Dutton and Mayoress, Elaine Dutton at the Town Hall on Thursday (29 September).
Jack and Declan took part in the Somme 100th year anniversary service and parade in the town centre back in July along with other local school children.
Their poster commemoration to remember the fallen was judged as runner up and they were invited back on Thursday to celebrate.
After a tour of the Town Hall and tea and sandwiches with the Mayor and Mayoress in the parlour the boys were presented with a certificate.
