Lisa Stansfield wins award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music

Lisa Stansfield picked up the award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music at the Boisdale Awards in Canary Wharf on Thursday night (29 September).
Rochdale's iconic soul singer has sales of nearly 20 million records and a string of international top 10 hits, including ‘All Around The World’ which topped the charts, globally, 27 years ago, to her name.
The awards, hosted by Jools Holland, and featuring live performances from a host of stars, celebrate the finest in jazz, blues and soul.
On receiving the award, Lisa said: "Thanks for a great evening and for helping to keep live music alive."
The award adds to the Grammy nominated, multi BRIT, Ivor Novello and Silver Clef awards Lisa has racked up in a glittering career.
