Improving effective communication

Date published: 27 September 2016

Action for Pakistan, International, Rochdale, in cooperation with BME Fire and Safety Education Association and Pak Punjab Cultural Association, organised a training session on improving effective communication.

Members of the three organisations attended.

The training session covered verbal, non-verbal, graphs, body language, cross communication, cultural aspects of UK and Pakistan, etc.

The training session was delivered by Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Chartered MICPD (UK) who, as training and development officer, served on the local council for 18 years and has now retired.

A spokesperson said: "The feedback was very positive and members were interested in more in-depth training on assertiveness, active listening, dealing with people face-to-face, dealing with people on the phone, dealing with aggression and violence, minutes taking, etc."

These courses are free for members of the community in the Borough of Rochdale and can be delivered in Urdu, Punjabi and English.
