Ashworth Valley clean up

Date published: 05 September 2016

Volunteers have been clearing the fly tipping in Ashworth Valley.

Paul Ellison said: “I can now say the main location of flying tipping has been cleared, with a lot of effort from myself and Kurtis Styles from Pioneer Tree services, who I would like to personally thank for his time and expertise.

“All day we have been on ropes down the valley, clearing this mess and making it a beauty spot again.

“Hopefully this problem will not recur again, as I am placing relevant signage on Ashworth Road this week, which is being supplied by Rochdale Council Environment Management, who also are picking up all the rubbish tomorrow, and I have been speaking to a lot of the Ashworth Valley residents, including the scout hut and caravan park, where they themselves are looking into CCTV.

“Also all three Norden councillors, Jim Gartside, Michael Holly and Peter Winkler are dealing with these prevention problems.”
