Girlguiding members speak out at pride

Date published: 02 September 2016

Girlguiding members from Rochdale and Littleborough supported Girlguiding North West England at Manchester’s Pride festival, a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Over eighty volunteers showed off their ‘guiding pride’ in the vibrant parade, which was watched by thousands of people.

To fit in with this year’s festival theme; ‘fairytales’, the volunteers created a magical parade entry and a stand full of enchanting items.

Jess Timperley, 20, from Rochdale, who helped at the event, said: “I had a great time at pride representing Girlguiding North West England, it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the amazing opportunities that Girlguiding offers.”
