John Taylor, Katie Haigh, Ian Baxter-Wild, Lynda Redfern, David Howles, Des Turner, Pat Hartley, John Lapworth, David Brierley, Philip Harrison, Alan Wade and Alan Calow are the winners of the annual Springhill Hospice Calendar photography competition.

The contest encourages local residents to show what makes the Borough so picturesque by sending in their photographs to be judged by a panel.

John Taylor’s picture of The Original Pioneers Co-op Museum on Toad Lane, Rochdale graces the cover of the calendar, which features shots from around the borough, including Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough, Queen’s Park in Heywood and Watergrove Reservoir in Wardle.

Photos of events such as the annual Rochdale Half Marathon and the Santa Dash or Dawdle have also been chosen.

The winners were announced at the Springhill Day Hospice by Mayor Ray Dutton and Mayoress Elaine Dutton. Guests in attendance included Hospice Chairman Councillor, Robert Clegg, Hospice Chief Executive, Julie Halliwell and Leader of the Council, Councillor Richard Farnell.

Ms Halliwell, said: “The calendar is a wonderful way to show off some of the breath-taking views our community experience every day.”
