Elderly couple taken to hospital following chip pan fire

An 80-year-old man and 79-year-old woman were taken to hospital following a fire at their home on King Street, Middleton on Tuesday (30 August).
Fire engines from Whitefield, Chadderton and Blackley were called to the property at 3.05pm after a chip pan caught fire.
A positive pressure fan was used to remove smoke from the property as the fire was out when the fire service arrived.
