Matthew Moss celebrating significant rise in GCSE results

Students and staff at Matthew Moss High School are celebrating a significant rise in GCSE results.

The number of students with at least five good GCSEs has risen by 4% and performance in English is particularly strong with 90% of students achieving at least their expected grade and 40% exceeding it.

Individual success stories include Aamna Irfan with 11A*, Ayesha Irfan 7A* and 4A, Cameron Galloway with 2A*, 5A, 4B and Lucy Murphy with 2A*, 4A and 3B.

Toni Moser who teaches Kizzi English said: “I’m really proud, Kizzi has so hard and passed all her exams. She came in on Saturdays and for extra lessons during school. She really deserves these results.”

Headteacher Mark Moorhouse said: “We are incredibly proud of our students, who worked so hard and achieved such great results.

“They are in a strong position for their next steps and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
