Communities invited to bid for slice of £200,000

Communities across the region are being invited to bid for a slice of £200,000 to help build safer neighbourhoods.
This is the second wave of community funding for 2016. It will see grants of up to £5,000 being given to projects that help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in their local area.
Greater Manchester Mayor and Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd said: “Local people have the ideas and passion needed to make a real difference in their communities, but they need support to bring their plans to life.
“We’ve seen the terrible impact of cuts to our public services which have been imposed by central government. With public and voluntary agencies feeling the bite, it’s local people that end up suffering. With these grants, we can help people to help themselves, and at the same time reduce demand on stretched public services.”
The closing date for applications is 4pm, 22 September.
