Police plea on firearms incidents

Police are appealing for information following three firearms incidents in North Manchester.

At around 11.20pm on Sunday, police received several reports of a shooting at a takeaway in Rochdale Road, Harpurhey.

Officers attended and a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso. He underwent surgery for his injuries and is now in a stable condition.

Officers attended and recovered a shotgun.

At around 8.05pm on Monday, police were called to reports of gun shots being heard in Crescent Road, Crumpsall.

Officers recovered a shotgun and handgun. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and remains in police custody.

At about 10.30pm the same day, police were called to reports of gun shots in Harpurhey.

Officers found damage consistent with a firearm discharge to the front of the door of an address in Derville Walk.
