Outrage as vandals burn wheelie bins on Hare Hill Park bandstand

Date published: 03 August 2016

Mindless vandals who have been torching wheelie bins on Hare Hill Park bandstand in Littleborough have caused outrage in the local community.

Local residents are calling on the police to catch those responsible after finding bins melted to the floor on the bandstand.

Greater Manchester Police has been informed about the incidents, which have happened at least twice over the past few weeks, and residents have been on the lookout in the hope of finding who is responsible.

Local resident and member of Friends of Hare Hill Park, Lisa Burke said: “I’m really disappointed to tell you that once again people have dragged another wheelie bin onto the bandstand and set it on fire. The police have been informed and relevant authorities.”

She added: “It’s such a pointless thing to do and those of us who take care of the park and care about the local community do not want this type of behaviour. Whoever is doing this needs to be caught.”
