Mayors charity bag pack
The Mayor held a charity bag pack at Morrison’s in Heywood at the weekend with several cadets from Rochdale and Heywood also turning out to help at the event.
Mayor Ray Dutton and Mayoress Elaine Dutton were both present for the event which raised over £900 for charity across Saturday and Sunday.
The money will be divided between the mayor’s chosen charities, Springhill Hospice, Moorland Children’s Home and the Lee Rigby Foundation.
The Mayor of Rochdale said: "I would like to thank the kind people of Heywood for their generous donations and also the Morisons staff and manager.
"All of the cadet's help, who assisted on both Saturday and Sunday, was invaluable.
"The Mayoress and I will also be assisting the cadets again for one hour this Saturday 6 August in another charity bag pack.”
