Over £3,000 has been raised in a few hours in an appeal to fund the funeral of Chloe Cockton.
The 16-year-old tragically died after a car crash on Bury Road in the early hours of Saturday morning (23 July).
Today (26 July), a fundraising page was set up by family and friends to try and raise enough money to give Chloe the “send-off she deserves”.
Chloe has been described in tributes as “amazing” and “an angel”.
Jenna Dunne wrote: “No words will truly justify what a beautiful girl Chloe was, both inside and out. Sadly, on 24/07/16 the hearts of so many who loved her were to be forever broken. A story that has broken the entire community and touched the lives of so many who both knew and loved her for the beauty she was.
“It is absolutely unimaginable to think what those closest to her are going through right now and nothing will ever fill this empty space for them, but can we give Michelle, Lee and& Sophie just one less thing to worry about at this difficult and heart-breaking time.
“With little strength of their own at this sad time, let's allow them rely on the strength of others to get them through, if people can donate just one or two pounds then we can help raise some money to give Chloe the send-off she deserves and celebrate the life of the brightest star she now is.”
