Date published: 20 July 2016
A pedestrian was rushed to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a lorry before it drove off and left him in the road.
Emergency services, including North West Ambulance Service, were called to the scene on Bagslate Moor Road following a failed-to-stop collision, which resulted in the 35-year-old man needing urgent medical care on Saturday afternoon (16 July).
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to the incident along with paramedics before the victim was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital for treatment.
Officers would like to speak to the driver of the lorry after the incident close to Rochdale Golf Club on Saturday afternoon shortly after 2.30pm.
A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said: “The helicopter was called alongside the road ambulance, but the victim ended up being taken by road ambulance. He suffered head and neck injuries and was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital.”
