Changes to Bury and Rochdale Metrolink services on Sunday 17 July

Date published: 15 July 2016

Metrolink customers are advised that Network Rail improvement works at Victoria Station will affect the Bury and Rochdale lines and some city centre stops on Sunday 17 July.

The following Metrolink services will run:

  • Altrincham – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Manchester Airport – Cornbrook
  • Manchester Airport – Firswood (3am - 6am)
  • East Didsbury – Deansgate-Castlefield
  • Ashton under Lyne – Piccadilly
  • Bury – Queens Road
  • Rochdale Town Centre – Central Park

The following replacement bus services will run:

  • Queens Road to Piccadilly Station: calling at all stops except Market Street
  • Central Park - Piccadilly Station: calling at all stops except Market Street. Passengers should use Victoria stop for Exchange Square

Summer transformation works mean there are currently no north/south trams running through St Peter’s Square or on the Eccles via MediaCityUK line.

The X2 bus service will run as usual on Sunday, calling at Piccadilly Station, Deansgate-Castlefield, Cornbrook, Trafford Bar (towards Eccles only), Exchange Quay, Salford Quays, MediaCityUK, Harbour City, Langworthy, Weaste, Ladywell and Eccles.

Passengers need to have a valid Metrolink ticket or pass before boarding replacement bus services.
