'Kirky Kitchen' opens

The grand opening of 'Kirky Kitchen'
'Kirky Kitchen', a new community café, has opened up in Kirkholt to promote community spirit and bring people together.
The grand opening last week was attended by around 50 people, with famous children’s characters welcoming everyone in.
Tea, cake and face painting were among the events of the day at the Gainsborough Drive centre, which is now open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.00am until 3.00pm.
Instead of paying for what you eat and drink, Kirky Kitchen is charging a few pence per minute you spend in the café.
The price is 3p per minute for ages 13+, 2p for RBH members and ages 5-12, and under 5s are free.
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, Council for Social Aid (Manchester), Rochdale SOUP, Allchurches Trust and Tesco Community Food Connection have all supported the project.
