Teenage boy robbed at knife point in Healey Dell

Date published: 12 July 2016

A 17-year-old boy was held at knife point and forced to hand over his wallet in a frightening daylight attack in Healey Dell on Sunday (10 July).

Two men, believed to be 19 or 20, had jumped the boy with kitchen knives and demanded his money.

The boy had been carrying £250 in cash which his mum had given him for an up and coming holiday.

The boy’s mum said: “It was completely in broad daylight, they just jumped out on my son and his friend and started threatening them with knives.

“It’s not normal for someone of his age to be carrying that amount of money and it makes you wonder if they somehow knew about it.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at 4.45pm to Healey Dell in Rochdale, to reports of two adult males carrying out a knifepoint robbery.

“One of the men we are looking for has dark hair wearing a black ski jacket, and the other with dirty blonde hair with a grey hoodie and shorts. Both men are believed to be about 19 or 20.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
