Residents whose bins go uncollected have said they are considering leaving the borough due to “shocking” waste collection services.
As previously reported by Rochdale Online News, uncollected bins in Castleton led to a rat infestation back in March.

Four months later, complaints are still coming in from locals who say their bins are overflowing and attracting rodents – to the point some are considering leaving altogether.
John Lynch, who lives on Queensway, said: “My back garden is collecting bags of general waste because they seem to be allergic to taking the green bin. There is nothing in there that shouldn’t be, but if the lid is up a little bit or the bin men don’t feel like it that day, we get stuck with it for another few weeks.
“Rochdale council is famous for being absolutely terrible with this – my friends from out of town don’t have it as bad as we do. It’s disgusting, both the rubbish and their incompetence.”
He added: “I have genuinely considered going to live somewhere else where this very basic service that we pay for is actually provided.”
Reverend Ginger DeSaint, from Castleton, said he has contacted the council tirelessly to get his bins collected but keeps getting “fobbed off”.
He added: “I rang back on Thursday with the same complaint and was told they would look into it. Friday came and I rang again, I was told a manager would ring me back. Still nothing. Saturday comes and someone has now dumped a load of receipts and paperwork from a company in Littleborough in the bins, so now the bin men won't touch the bins as they are 'contaminated'.”
He continued: “What do we have to do to get our recycle bins emptied on the day they are meant to be emptied? I beg for someone to do something as the overflowing bins attract flies and rats and all manner of vermin.”
