A car burst into flames after crashing into a speed camera following a police chase on Saturday (9 July).
The Renault Scenic was seen by officers racing through the streets close to 70mph. They followed the vehicle from Fieldhouse Lane towards Albert Royds Street.
The driver ignored police signals to pull over which resulted in a seven minute pursuit, before the driver crashed at speed into a speed camera and a stone wall.
The car caught fire at approximately 4.00am.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that a 21-year-old man was arrested and later charged on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving with no insurance and driving without a driving licence.
