'Fun in the Sun' at Hopwood Park
Date published: 10 July 2016
Hundreds of people ignored the rain and enjoyed the 'Fun in the Sun' event at Hopwood Park in Heywood on Saturday afternoon.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Ray and Elaine Dutton and MP Liz Mcciness joined organisers Sandra Trickett and Dorne Horan in helping raise funds for the park.
Heywood Explorer Scout Unit also raised funds for a Kandersteg International Scout Centre trip.
Mayor Ray Dutton said: “Forget the weather, hundreds of people come out to enjoy ‘Fun in the Sun’ in Heywood. The event run by Friends of Hopwood Park brought fun and laughter and the rain did not dampen the enjoyment.”
Liz McInnes MP said: “Great day with Heywood Explorer Scout Unit and Inspector Fern.”
