REAG in action on a rainy day
Date published: 10 July 2016
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) were in action on Saturday, despite the rain.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE said: “We cleaned the bushes and weeds in the corner of the Cecil Street, Deeplish and made the soil soft so that flowers can be planted next week. We will return to plant flowers at the same place.
“This small strip on the roadside is a suitable place for planting flowers and improving the environment. We hope the users of the road and the residents of the area will be looking after these.
“Rochdale is a beautiful town and has a rich history. We need to pay back to the town where we live, our children go to school and we have our businesses. If we give 10 minutes every day to clean around our properties and businesses, Rochdale will be a better town.”
