Mayor thanks volunteers

Rochdale Environmental Action Group members and other volunteers receiving certificates from Mayor Ray Dutton
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) and other volunteers were presented with certificates for their contribution on the day of the opening of the River Roch in Rochdale Town Centre.
The certificates were presented by Mayor Ray Dutton at a ceremony at Rochdale Town Hall. Myor Dutton said he appreciated the role of the volunteers and the contribution they are making in all aspects of life in the Borough of Rochdale.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary of REAG, thanked the organisers of the event. He said: "Rochdale is a beautiful town, has a rich history and the opening of the bridge is also part of the history for future generations."
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group (REAG) volunteered to be the part of the opening of River Roch on 25 June 2016. They have also been cleaning the roads and streets of the Borough of Rochdale for the last four years.
