Nadeem Hussain jailed for conspiracy to launder money

Date published: 08 July 2016

Nadeem Hussain, 28, of Falkland Avenue, Rochdale, was one of  six men jailed for their roles in a conspiracy.

Hussain, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to launder money and was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment, was part of a gang involved in the supply of drugs and money laundering.

A major investigation by Lancashire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) uncovered a large drugs network that spanned across areas of Lancashire, parts of Greater Manchester and Leicester.

Throughout the operation officers seized a total of 1kg of heroin and 1kg of cocaine with a street value worth approximately £180,000 and recovered nearly £50,000 in cash.

DS Mark Lee from Lancashire Constabulary’s Serious Organised Crime Unit said: “As a result of this operation, we have dismantled a significant drugs network, taking large quantities of cocaine and heroin off our streets and ensuring that those involved in the conspiracy have been brought to justice.”

A Proceeds of Crime (POCA) investigation will now follow.
