Bus roof ripped off on Joshua Lane, Middleton
The roof of a double decker bus has been ripped off after it crashed into a bridge on Joshua Lane, Middleton.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the driver has been reported and that an investigation is underway as to how the incident happened on Joshua Lane and Mills Hill Road, Middleton at 8.00pm today (5 July).
A spokesperson for Stagecoach said: "We can confirm that one of our buses was involved in an incident at about 7.00pm on Tuesday 5 July. It took place on Joshua Lane in Middleton as an out of service bus was returning to the nearby depot.
"There were no passengers on board at the time and no one was injured.
"Safety is our absolute priority and we are assisting police with their inquiries as well as carrying out our own investigation into the incident."
No one is reported to have been hurt in the incident.
