An investigation into allegations of death threats being made to Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk via social media has resulted in individuals being "advised as to the content of messages they post online" after police in Rochdale determined the level of risk to Mr Danczuk "to be low".
Detective Chief Inspector John Harris, of GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “In November 2015, GMP was made aware of a report of threats that were made to a local MP via social media.
“An investigation was launched by the police in Rochdale and following an assessment and review of all the available information, the level of risk to the individual was determined to be low.
“No arrests have taken place, but likely locations from where the messages were sent have been identified and individuals have been advised as to the content of messages they post on line.”
