KS4

4 C went on a tour of the Animal Care part of the college ready to start their work with the animals this week.  All pupils were very sensible around the animals and most of them got to hold a snake. The pupils are very excited to start animal care properly next week.

The cook and eat group made tomato tart and key lime pie. All the students worked really hard.

KS3

It’s been a busy week in key stage 3:

Jack (with a little help from Beren) has been spending any spare time he has had over the last few weeks to make these fabulous models. He used ‘Square Kit’ to make Mario Mushroom and Iron Man from his favourite TV shows.

Year 8/9 Red have been through a car wash this week as part of the Space and Travel topic. They had a fab time.

Guteres and Kashif have been enjoying playing the guitar this week.

At dinnertime Julie runs a drop-in signing group, all students are welcome to come along and see the fun we have singing and signing.

Sana, Kashif and Hassan really enjoyed a deafening blast off into space in class this week using foils and sound effects courtesy of NASA.

KS5

Our music focus this term is layering sounds. As well as using the keyboards and computer programmes, we also have learned a two part African drumming routine.

SFI – In Art the students have been working on a pottery project based on Ancient Greek vessels.  The students have made a pinch pot and a coil pot.  They carefully glazed their pots ready to be fired and put in the kiln.

In Performing Arts this term we have been focusing on pantomime. Oh no we haven’t. We chose to study Aladdin.  We have researched and watched a variety of versions and from these we have made our own script.  We have cast our characters and helped to make props for our performance.

Sensory route Art - In Art the students are working on 3D shapes.  We investigated the large inflatable shapes, and the students had lots of fun.

Student of the Week

Tom - For being very brave on the Zip Wire and having fun on the Calvert Trust residential.

Most Improved

Raymond - For doing really well managing his behavior.
