First stage of Lower Falinge new build

Date published: 27 June 2016

Representatives from RBH and the local community gathered together to mark the completion of the first new homes in Lower Falinge and to see initial plans for the next phase of new development.

The 26 new family homes and bungalows are being built  on the site of two former blocks of flats and the adjacent disused pub site; the scheme has provided new mutual homes alongside the historic Toad Lane.

Local firm Casey carried out the construction work, and the contemporary homes were designed by Greater Manchester based OMI Architects to complement the existing nearby buildings.

RBH Director of Communities, Clare Tostevin, said: "These new homes have transformed this part of the neighbourhood and the landscaping design has introduced new greenery to the area. These homes are at the heart of the local community and provide a greater choice of homes in an area which previously provided only one and three bedroom flats."

Plans re being drawn up for a second phase of new development to start this year, again with support from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Work continues to improve the existing homes at Lower Falinge with new double-glazed windows and new doors being installed and repainting being carried out.
