Date published: 24 June 2016
Two fish and chip shops in Middleton were targeted by burglars on the same night.
Hollins Fish Bar on Nowell Road, and Langley Friery on Wood Street, both had their charity boxes taken during the two separate burglaries which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning (22 June).
Greater Manchester Police is investigating the thefts. A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Hollins Fish Bar at 6am to reports of a burglary. A computer and cash was stolen.
“We were called also to the Langley Friery on Wood Street at 4.45am, where damage was caused to the building and cash was taken. There is no reason to believe at this stage that the two incidents were connected.”
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
