Flash Gordon (Sam J. Jones) is the star of Dale-Con 4 at Rochdale Town Hall - on a rare visit to the UK from America.

Other guests include Melody Anderson (Dale Arden in Flash Gordon), Peter Duncan, John Altman, Alan Flying, Brian Wheeler, Andrew Lawden, Stephen Calcutt, Martin Ballantyne, Amanda Noar, Matthew Dale, Femi Taylor, Simon Fisher-Becker and Peter Roy.

Wander around the Town Hall and you are likely to be accosted by Jedi Knights, Batman, and lots of sci-fi characters.

Other attractions include trade stalls selling all manner of sci-fi paraphernalia and comics, movie props, Jedi Fight Academy, Lightning McQueen, Jurassic Adventures and Rex.

Visitors can also have their photo taken in the Ghostbusters Containment Unit.

Dale-Con organiser Martin Ballard said: "This Father's Day there is only one place to be... Rochdale Town Hall.

"We've brought Flash Gordon to England and the big American rig, Optimus Prime to keep him company."
